MORAN HANDED CAMPBELL AFTER JONES JR. DEBACLE

MORAN HANDED CAMPBELL AFTER JONES JR. DEBACLE

Tony Moran has been handed a task to focus on ahead of his fight at the weekend.

The Liverpool cruiserweight will now come up against Jimmy Campbell at the Liverpool Olympia, despite having his most lucrative opportunity snatched from him last week.

Moran will face the London-born American, who has a record of 11-8 (8), for the vacant MBC International title.

It’s a match which had to be made after the farce that happened with former four-weight world champion Roy Jones Jr., who Moran (15-6, 5KOs) was due to compete with, for the vacant WBFed International cruiserweight title and the aforementioned MBC belt, at Aintree Equestrian Centre.

Jones Jr. withdrew from the fight after signing a promotional and managerial deal with Russian powerhouse Vlad Hrunov and failing to turn up for his flight to the UK

But the show must go on — and that’s what’s happening — as Stephen Vaughan for VB Promotions is promoting an evening of championship boxing that also features Tasif Khan and Paul Economides in title fights.

A fully supporting undercard, which includes Russian super bantamweight sensation David Agadzhanyan and local favourites Nick Quigley, Ryan Vaughan & Ryan Moorhead among others, will complete the stacked 15-fight card.

Tickets for ‘The Show Must Go On’ are priced at £40 (balcony), £60 (floor) and £75 (ringside) and will be available by phone on 0333 200 0905 or online at either the tickets page on the Vaughan Boxing website or at It’s A-Bout Boxing.
